Firearms and Suicide
- In CT in 2001, firearm suicide
accounted for 75 deaths or 58 percent of all firearm deaths, more
than any other cause of firearm injury deaths. 67 (89%) of the completed
suicides were white males.
- In CT, in 2001, when a firearm
could be identified, 37 percent of completed suicides used a rifle
or shotgun.
